Canon could mimic the competition and engage in the
manufacture of cameras without a mirror. A patent to this effect was filed last
Monday.
While the cameras like Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and
Nikon manufacturers recently began to develop mirrorless cameras, Canon seems
to be also a place in the sale of such devices.
Because Canon has filed a patent application Monday for a
mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens. Indeed, the patented reported an
18-45mm lens, f3.5-5.6 only used with an APS-C that is to say without a mirror.
However, it is impossible to know when the application will
be accepted. Yet the very idea of addressing Canon mirrorless cameras is
promising when considering rendering PowerShot G1 X Powershot S95 and PowerShot
G12.
