Ever more powerful, ever more pixels today cameras must excel. Did not count on that Pentax chose, for once, focus on the look? The series Optio I-10 and H90 have a vintage design, which could wreak havoc.
The Optio I-90 model, available in black and white, takes the shape of the famous Pentax Auto 110 launched in 1978. Of course, the unit that draws the look of his ancestor in electronics, it is the same level as the new compact generation. It is indeed with a 12.1 megapixel sensor, an X5 zoom, 6.2X digital zoom, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, a mechanical stabilizer, face detection and smile and a video function. Characteristics quite honorable. It will be available in February 2010 at a price of 199 euros.
Pentax will launch at the same time the Optio H90, very "70s", including orange model. Technically, it will be similar to the I-10 with a 12.1 megapixel sensor, X5 zoom, 2.7 inch LCD screen ... But it will not be equipped with a mechanical stabilizer, hence the lower price (149 euros).
Finally, Pentax will sell a much less expensive model (from 79 euros): the Optio E90. This will not benefit from such a sought after than others and will blend in with the mass of digital cameras from point design. It has an X3 zoom, a 10.1 megapixel sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, a stabilization system, a Smile Shutter or digital filter to give touch originality to photos, failing to reside it in the look of the camera.
