48 hours before the official opening of the CP +, Canon draws first and announces four new compact for IXUS and PowerShot ranges.
The IXUS 255 HS has a CMOS sensor of 12 million pixels associated with the DIGIC 5 processor. Its 10x optical zoom starting at 24mm stabilized with Intelligent IS. Unlike the IXUS 240 HS, the screen is not touch. The IXUS 255 HS knows shoot in Full HD and Wi-Fi makes it easy to share works. Fun little detail: GPS function is present ... but it should actually pair the camera with a smartphone (equipped with the GPS) to geotag photos.

The IXUS 255 HS will be available in black, silver and pink, in March for € 249.


The IXUS 135 is an IXUS 132 with Wi-Fi (and thus the "GPS"). Apart from that, their specifications are identical: CCD 16 million pixels (yes, still in the IXUS range CCD), non-touch screen of 6.8 cm and 461 000 points, stabilized 8x zoom starting at 28 mm , HD video 720p.Tous both are available in silver, black and pink, the 135 offers a blue variation against a green version for the 132.

The PowerShot offers similar features to the electronic IXUS 132 and 135 the same CCD 16 million pixels, the same DIGIC 4 processor, same screen 6.7 inch 461 000 pixels, and is limited to 720p HD video itself. The PowerShot is a concession on the zoom, 5x and limited starting at 28 mm. In return, it is a bit more light (half a diaphragm).

It will be available in black and red in April to 99 €.
